Hundert Hunde

Since over 12 years, my dogs (Westies) and I love to visit ‚Hundert Hunde‘ twice or three times a year. Cris is a superb professional and a very adorable person. Let’s be honest - our 17 years old Westie ‚Lucy‘ was never very keen on visits to the groomer. But Cris always arrives to calm her quickly and manages almost effortlessly to establish a great connection with my beloved lady. Should you have a sensible dog which is not very fond of grooming activities … visit Cris at Hundert Hunde. She is simply the best. (Peter Harnisch, Männedorf)

Our Labradoodle has been visiting Hundert Hunde for 3 years and we could not be happier. Chris is always very kind and gentle with our dog and her salon is very clean and safe. We always look forward to going to her place as Chris is also super nice and friendly.

My dog and I love coming here. Cris really loves the doggies and it shows! I like that it’s one dog (family) at a time. Very well organized and very clean. Cris’ English is great, if German is difficult for the owner. We’ve been coming to Cris for about 6 years; I’ve referred a few doggos to her also, and they all thank ME for the work she does! It took me considerable time to gather my thoughts and write this review, but I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience with this dog grooming salon. My journey with Hundert Hunde began when my puppy was just 4 months old. We chose this salon to introduce our dog to grooming and because of the high praise for Cristiane, as evident in the reviews. However, my perception changed due to an unexpected turn of events. After a few weeks from our third and latest appointment, I received a text message from the owner, notifying me that my now-10 months old poodle would no longer be accepted at her salon. According to her, this was because the puppy was too nervous and uncomfortable. Tbh, I was taken aback by this sudden decision and by the lack of communication as she did not give any prior indication during - or right after - the treatment that she would no longer groom him. This led me to sought the services of a new groomer with 30 years of experience. To our dismay, he discovered that our puppy's fur was riddled with holes and entirely asymmetrical due to the previous cut. As we conversed, I mentioned that Cristiane had previously muzzled him during the grooming session due to his nervousness and excessive movement. To my surprise and inexperience, the new groomer informed me that this was an entirely wrong approach, particularly when dealing with a puppy. He emphasized that puppies, even more so than older dogs, do not typically enjoy grooming and cannot be expected to remain still like statues right off the bat. This realization shed light on the reason why our dog was always so anxious about visiting Hundert Hunde. In stark contrast, the new groomer demonstrated the right blend of experience and approach. He assured me that my puppy merely required a little more comfort and patience (and definitely NOT a muzzle). With skilled hands and the proper approach, he successfully groomed my dog without ANY issues. This new experience has underscored the importance of finding a competent professional. It has become evident to me that the problem did not lie with my miniature poodle puppy but with the APPROACH he received (i.e., the muzzle and the way she handled him). I am profoundly disappointed with the overall experience, but fortunately, it led us to discover a more skilled and caring groomer who can meet our grooming needs. We have been going to Cris for 3 years and very happy with the service. Cris is kind and friendly and takes excellent care of our dog. Although our dog isn't the biggest fan of getting a haircut she loves seeing Cris and always looks great afterwards.
